Since this is the second book in the Thieves Series, and I don't want to give away any spoilers for people that haven't yet read the first book, I thought I would include the synopsis from Book 1.

Synopsis for Among Thieves by M.J. Kuhn - A high-stakes heist novel set in a gritty world of magic and malice

In just over a year’s time, Ryia Cautella has already earned herself a reputation as the quickest, deadliest blade in the dockside city of Carrowwick—not to mention the sharpest tongue. But Ryia Cautella is not her real name.

For the past six years, a deadly secret has kept her in hiding, running from town to town, doing whatever it takes to stay one step ahead of the formidable Guildmaster—the sovereign ruler of the five kingdoms of Thamorr. No matter how far or fast she travels, his servants never fail to track her down...but even the most powerful men can be defeated.

Ryia’s path now leads directly into the heart of the Guildmaster’s stronghold, and against every instinct she has, it’s not a path she can walk alone. Forced to team up with a crew of assorted miscreants, smugglers, and thieves, Ryia must plan her next moves very carefully. If she succeeds, her freedom is won once and for all…but unfortunately for Ryia, her new allies are nearly as selfish as she is, and they all have plans of their own. Synopsis: An emotional story, based on true events, about the all-Black battalion of the Women's Army Corps who found purpose, solidarity and lifelong friendship in their mission of sorting over one million pieces of mail for the US Army.

1944, New York City. Judy Washington is tired of working from dawn til dusk in the Bronx Slave Market, cleaning white women’s houses and barely making a dime. Her husband is fighting overseas, so it's up to Judy and her mother to make enough money for rent and food. When the chance arises for Judy to join the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) and the ability to bring home a steady paycheck, she jumps at the opportunity.

Immediately upon arrival, Judy undergoes grueling military drills and inspections led by Second Officer Charity Adams, one of the only Black officers in the WAC. Judy becomes fast friends with the other women in her unit—Stacy, Bernadette and Mary Alyce—who only discovered she was Black after joining the army. Under Charity Adams’s direction, they are transferred to Birmingham, England, as part of the 6888th Central Postal Battalion—the only unit of Black women to serve overseas in WWII. Here, they must sort a backlog of over one million pieces of mail.

The women work tirelessly, knowing that they're reuniting soldiers to their loved ones through the letters they write. However, their work becomes personal when Mary Alyce discovers a backlogged letter addressed to Judy that will upend her personal life. Told through the alternating perspectives of Judy, Charity and Mary Alyce, Women of the Post is an unforgettable story of perseverance, female friendship, romance and self-discovery.

My Thoughts: This was a really compelling and interesting story. I liked how it's based on true events, and introduces me to some aspects and stories of history that I wasn't aware of. I really enjoyed the reading experience with this story.
It's a different kind of WWII book than most. WWII is a popular time to write about in historical fiction, but I don't remember anyone ever telling this story. I definitely feel like I learned things.
The writing and characters kept me engaged with the book. It's a good read!

Synopsis: She's back in her affluent hometown for the first time in years and determined to unravel the secrets of her mother's death hidden in the unpublished memoir she left behind...even if it kills her...

After her troublemaker mother's mysterious death, Kira fled her wealthy Texas town and never looked back. Now, decades later, Kira is invited to an old frenemy's vow renewal party. Though she is reluctant to go, there are things calling her back . . . like chilled wine and days spent by the pool . . . like her sexy childhood crush, Jack. But, more importantly, it's the urgent texts from her grandmother who says she has something to give Kira. Something about her mother's death, something that looks an awful lot like murder.

When her grandmother gives Kira a memoir that her mother had been working on before she died, she is pulled into the past and all of the sizzling secrets that come along with it. With few allies left in her gossipy, country club town, Kira turns to Jack for help. As she gets closer to what--and who--might have brought about her mother's end, it becomes clear that someone wants the past to stay buried.

And Kira might be next. (Synopsis from Goodreads

My Thoughts: I love summer for thrillers. They are so much fun to read during the summer months, so I knew that I had to check this one out. The cover called to me.
I love books about family secrets, so I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. I was on the case with Kira trying to figure out just what happened to her mother. I also really enjoyed the insular community of it all.
This book was a good time. May Cobb has not let me down when it comes to her books. I will continue to read them.

Title: Barbarian's Mate (Ice Planet Barbarians #6)
Author: Ruby Dixon

Synopsis: The next novel in the international publishing phenomenon the Ice Planet Barbarians series, now in a special print edition with a bonus novella!

Josie has always dreamed of finding The One, but the hunter chosen for her is nothing like what she expected (or wanted)—but he might be exactly what she needs.

“Resonance” is supposed to be a dream—that’s when your soulmate is chosen for you. And every woman on the ice planet has hooked up with a big, hunky soulmate of their own—except me. So do I want a mate? Heck yeah. More than anything, all I’ve ever wanted is to be loved by someone.

But the soulmate chosen for me? My least favorite person on the darn ice planet. Haeden’s the most cranky, disapproving, unpleasant, overbearing male alien . . . so why is it that my body sings when he gets close? Why is he working so hard to prove to me that he’s not as awful as I think he is?

I hate him . . . don’t I?
(Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: We're back on the Ice Planet! This series is just really addictive for me. It's super easy to just fly through and enjoy.
Josie is our heroine in this one, and she's gone through a really tough time in life. Her past is very heavy and all I wanted was for her to find happiness. I enjoyed reading her story.
I'll keep this short and sweet. The Barbarian's might not be for everyone, but they do have an addicting quality. I like them.

Their plan? But there’s one thing Mrs. King wants even more than money: the truth. And she’ll run any risk to get it…

After all, one should never underestimate the women downstairs.
(Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: Fun Fun Fun! A heist story set in London during the Victorian Era. I was drawn to this story just from the synopsis alone. I really liked how all the different elements of this story came together. It was a unique blend of different genres.
I definitely enjoyed my time reading this one. I'm always down for a group of thieves planning a crazy heist.
I enjoyed our cast of characters too.
This was just some good time reading. If you like heists and historical fiction, then give it a read.

Title: In the Weeds (Lovelight #2)

Synopsis: A grumpy farmer and a no-nonsense social media influencer have another chance at love in this charming romantic comedy.

Evelyn St. James isn’t the kind of woman you forget. Beckett Porter certainly hasn’t. One incredible weekend in Maine, and he’s officially a man distracted. He’s not unfamiliar with hot and heavy flings, but Evie wove some sort of magic over him during their tumble in the sheets. He can’t stop thinking about her laugh. Her hand pressed flat against his chest. Her smiling mouth at his neck.

So when she suddenly appears on his farm as part of a social media contest, he is…confused. He had no idea that the sweet and sexy woman he met at a bar is actually a global phenomenon. When Evie disappears again, Beckett resolves to finally move on.

But Evie, who has been feeling disconnected from her work and increasingly dissatisfied with life online, is trying to find her way back to something real. She returns to the last place she was Lovelight Farms and the tiny town of Inglewild. And it has absolutely nothing to do with the hot farmer she spent two incredible nights with. (Synopsis from Goodreads
)

My Thoughts: This was just the romance I wanted. It's definitely a steamy romance, but it has a lot of cute moments. I loved the setting of Lovelight Farms, and of course the small town of Ingleside.
This is a part of a series, and I want to go back and read the rest of them.
The couple does suffer from some miscommunication, which can be very frustrating as a reader to endure, but they eventually clear everything up.
It's also a little funny how Evie comes to stay at Lovelight. She just sort of shows up and stays.
I enjoyed this. I can see a lot of other people enjoying it too.
