Title: A Dish Best Served Hot (Vega Family Love Stories #2)
Author: Natalie Caña

Synopsis: Santiago "Saint" Vega gets a second shot at love with Lola León, but when duty to his family forces him to do something she'll never forgive, will everything he's built come crumbling down?

Years ago, Saint walked away from the girl he loved to fulfill his duty. Now he’s struggling to build bridges between his drifting family, take on more responsibilities at his uncle’s construction company, figure out why his daughter refuses to talk at school and curtail his mischievous abuelo’s escalating pranks. Then she walks back into his life.

Social justice advocate Lola León has returned to Humboldt Park for two to help care for her dear abuelo and to serve the community center she loved, particularly the shelter for unhoused LGBTQIA+ youths. When she finds out that the Vegas are responsible for endangering both, she is more than ready to go to war—even if the boy she never forgot is standing at the front of the battlefield.

Neither of them expects to become allies in saving the shelter, helping Saint’s daughter or ending the decades-long feud between their grandfathers. They definitely don’t expect all of their old feelings to come rushing back. As Saint and Lola enter combat, they can’t help but wonder where the other’s true allegiance lies, and whether they’ll win these battles only to lose each other.
(Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: This was cute. I had a good time reading this. I can see a lot of people really enjoying this one.
It has a second chance romance, which is a trope I enjoy.
Lola is a character not to be messed with. She is strong and gives Saint a run for his money.
This was a fun read!

BLOG TOUR: Sweeten the Deal by Katie Shepard

I'm excited to be a part of the Blog Tour for Sweeten the Deal by Katie Shepard! I received a free electronic copy for an honest review from the publisher. Thanks so much to Berkley and Katie Shepard for letting me be a part of the tour!

Title: Sweeten the Deal
Author: Katie Shepard
Published by: Berkley
Released: October 17, 2023
Source: Electronic Review Copy Provided by Publisher
Goodreads          Amazon

Synopsis: She's lonely, rich, and ten years too young for him—but she’s also his "sugar daddy," and they couldn't have less in common. Opposites attract in this charming new romance by Katie Shepard.

MBA student Caroline Sedlacek knows her personal balance sheet is a little lopsided. On the asset side, at twenty-two she’s got an NCAA trophy, a great education...and the two million dollars she unexpectedly inherited. Liabilities? She's never had friends, a boyfriend, or any life experiences away from the tennis court or the classroom. She'd love to invest herself in everything else, but "everything else" never came easily for her.

In the ten years since he left art school as a vaunted prodigy, Adrian Landry has won shows and major prizes—and done his best to shed his reputation as a pretty man who makes pretty paintings. Though currently broke and sleeping off a bad break-up on his college roommate’s couch, he knows this is the chance to get his life back on track at thirty-three—he just needs the money to find a new gallery.

When Adrian’s roommate lists him on a thinly veiled escort site, Caroline is not the patron he expected. She’s way too young, way too naive, and loudly uninterested in having sex with him. Instead, they’re both going to get exactly what they want: a little culture on her side, and a lot of cash on his. Aside from their sugar baby arrangement, they’ve got nothing in common. But as they reel from the symphony to the Haymarket, they learn that what they want and what they need might be two very different things.
(Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: This was a cute book. It was the perfect thing to fit between all my thrillers, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. I wasn't sure what I was going to think of it at first. The synopsis presents an interesting arrangement between Caroline and Adrian, but the more I read of their story, the more I enjoyed it.
This was fun! I had a good time reading this. I really enjoyed seeing the growth of Caroline and Adrian's relationship.
I could see a lot of people liking this one.

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this one! I liked the time period of the 1920's. I also loved getting to know Zora. The place and circumstances that she lived in made a great story.
I also really liked the idea of discovering the woman behind the name. We first meet Zora as a name on a tag, but throughout the story we discover the person Zora really was.
I can see a lot of people enjoying this one. The time period of the 1920's will be sure to draw many a reader in. The fashion and parties mixed with real life just make for a really great read.

My Thoughts: This is doggone cute! I'm sorry, I had to do it.
As soon as I saw the cover for this one and read the synopsis, I knew I had to read the whole thing. I love dogs! I must read the books with puppies!
This is also a Christmas book, so that added another layer of fun.
I enjoyed seeing Chelsea and Andrew's story. They started from a ruff (too good to pass up + they used it in the synopsis) spot and got all the way to puppy love.
This book was just cute and a fun time. It's a win for dog lovers and holiday readers. I can see a lot of people really enjoying this one.

With her built-in cover and her best-in-class reputation, Sydney is approached by the FBI as their way to infiltrate the Jones family at last.

Sydney has until Christmas to gather enough evidence on Johnny to take him down before he pulls off his most dangerous heist yet, all without losing her sister forever. Sydney always gets her man — but this time love is a target she can’t afford to miss.
(Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: This book was a whole lot of fun! The premise of this really hooked me. I knew that it was exactly the kind of story that would just be a good time to read. It had romance, humor, and action.
I could see a lot of people enjoying this one. It's one that you can easily fly through.
I really enjoyed the story in this. Syndney was really fun to follow. I really enjoyed all the stereotypical baddies that she encountered. Then there was the awkwardness of the criminal being her sister's fiance.
The only thing I can say is that this was fun. I'd recommend it.
