About the Book: 'Britain's answer to the best Marigold Hotel'
Let the shenanigans begin at the Best Boomerville Hotel …
Jo Docherty and Hattie Contaldo have a vision – a holiday retreat in the heart of the Lake District exclusively for guests of ‘a certain age’ wishing to stimulate both mind and body with new creative experiences. One hotel refurbishment later and the Best Boomerville Hotel is open for business!
Perhaps not surprisingly Boomerville attracts more than its fair share of eccentric clientele: there’s fun-loving Sir Henry Mulberry and his brother Hugo; Lucinda Brown, an impoverished artist with more ego than talent; Andy Mack, a charming Porsche-driving James Bond lookalike, as well as Kate Simmons, a woman who made her fortune from an internet dating agency but still hasn’t found ‘the One’ herself.
With such an array of colourful individuals there’s bound to be laughs aplenty, but could there be tears and heartbreak too and will the residents get more than they bargained for at Boomerville?

A Currently Reading Review: I haven't finished the book just yet, but I can tell you my current thoughts on it. So far, I think it's cute. I really like the premise, where guests of a certain age can book a stay at this hotel to have fun and make connections. The characters are full of life, some are a little kooky. The hotel just seems like a fun place to stay.
The characters involved all want something. Kate wants to find the love she's never had. At times, I see her as being a little full of herself, a little desperate, but I hope she finds happiness. Hattie and Jo have taken an old hotel and have given it new life again. Some of the extra curricular classes seem out there, but interesting. Then we have some guests that don't want to leave, and at least one who wants a free stay.
I'm excited to learn more about these characters, this hotel, and the journeys of all the characters.
So those are my current thoughts. I will be writing a full review when I finish.
