My Thoughts: I have not yet read the source material this is a reimagining of, Jane Eyre, but I enjoyed this book anyway! I'm bad at reading classics, but I love reading things based off classics. I know it doesn't make a lot of sense, but we are here anyway.
This was a fantastic debut! The characters were really fun to follow. The romance was one that I wanted to happen. It was satisfying. The writing also had a lot of humor to it, which I enjoyed.
I really liked our characters of Jane and Edward. They were well fleshed out and it was just fun reading about them. The romance was good too.
I really enjoyed this one. I think a lot of other people would enjoy it too. Great debut. I can't wait to see what Melodie Edwards writes next!
Melodie Edwards has a BA from the University of Toronto, a master’s degree from McMaster University and Syracuse University (2023), studied comedy writing at the Second City Training Centre, and works in communications. Jane & Edward is her first novel.
