BLOG TOUR: The Lost City by Amanda Hocking

I'm really excited to be a part of the Blog Tour for The Lost City by Amanda Hocking. This is a new series and a return to her Trylle World. I'm a fan. I received a free copy for honest review from the publisher. Thanks so much to Wednesday Books and Amanda Hocking for having me on the tour and taking me back to Trylle.

Title: The Lost City (The Omte Origins #1)
Author: Amanda Hocking
Published by: Wednesday Books
Released: July 7, 2020
Source: Review Copy from Publisher

Synopsis: New York Times bestselling author Amanda Hocking returns to the magical world of the Trylle with The Lost City, the first book in the final Trylle arc.
Nestled along the bluffs of the forested coast lays the secret kingdom of the Omte—a realm filled with wonder...and as many secrets.
Ulla Tulin was left abandoned in an isolated Kanin city as a baby, taken in by strangers and raised hidden away like many of the trolls of mixed blood. Even knowing this truth, she’s never stopped wondering about her family.
When Ulla is offered an internship working alongside the handsome Pan Soriano at the Mimirin, a prestigious institution, she jumps at the chance to use this opportunity to hopefully find her parents. All she wants is to focus on her job and the search for her parents, but all of her attempts to find them are blocked when she learns her mother may be connected to the Omte royal family.
With little progress made, Ulla and Pan soon find themselves wrapped up in helping Eliana, an amnestic girl with abilities unlike any they have ever seen before—a girl who seems to be running from something. To figure out who she is they must leave the city, and possibly, along the way, they may learn more about Ulla’s parents. (Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: I am so happy to re-enter the world of Trylle! In this new series we are following Ulla who was abandoned as a baby and wants to find out her history. I liked this. Amanda Hocking's storytelling and imagination always draw me in.
I liked the characters and I liked the journey they went on. It was really an adventure to find out Ulla's family, an adventure that I enjoyed.
I'd say it's probably a good idea to have read the previous series to get the full impact of this new series. They kind of give you backdrop on the world.
I'm glad and grateful I got to read this early. I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for the next one. If you're an Amanda Hocking fan, I'd definitely recommend checking out this one, but if you were already a fan, you were probably going to read it anyway. For those that don't know Amanda Hocking, I'd definitely suggest checking out her previous work and then dive into this one.

Amanda Hocking is the author of over twenty young adult novels, including the New York Times bestselling Trylle Trilogy and Kanin Chronicles.
