Synopsis: Sometimes, just one person can pull a whole family apart. And sometimes, it just takes one person to pull it back together. For fans of Bridgerton, New York Times bestselling Regency Romance author Mary Balogh shows how love truly conquers all in this new Friends of the Westcotts novel.
As a young man, Justin Wiley was banished by his father for mysterious reasons, but now, his father is dead, and Justin has been Earl of Brandon for six years. A dark, dour man, he, nonetheless, takes it as his responsibility to care for his half-sister, Maria, when her mother dies. He travels to her home to fetch her back to the family seat at Everleigh Park.
Although she adored him, once, Maria now loathes Justin, and her friend, Lady Estelle Lamarr, can see, immediately, how his very name upsets her. When Justin arrives and invites Estelle and her brother to accompany Maria to Everleigh Park to help with her distress, she begrudgingly agrees, for Maria's sake.
As family secrets unravel in Maria's homecoming, Justin, too, uncovers his desire for a countess. And, while he may believe he's found an obvious candidate in the beautiful 25-year-old Lady Estelle, she is most certain that they could never make a match... (Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: Whenever I'm looking for something to make me feel good, I always gravitate toward a historical romance. Mary Balogh is a household name when it comes to satisfying historical's, so I knew I wasn't going to be let down.
I really enjoyed this one. I'm always a sucker for the grumpy guy who realizes he can't function without this lady in his life forever. I'm an even bigger sucker for forced proximity romances, so them being stuck together in this country house was great!
I liked our two leads of Justin and Estelle. I just liked reading their story. It was very good. Mary Balogh did not let me down.

Mary Balogh has written more than one hundred historical novels and novellas, more than forty of which have been New York Times bestsellers. They include the Bedwyn saga, the Simply quartet, the Huxtable quintet, the seven-part Survivors' Club series, and the Westcott series.

Thanks so much for checking out my Blog Tour Stop for Someone Perfect by Mary Balogh. Thank you to Berkley and Mary Balogh for letting me be a part of this tour. If you love historical romance, I'd definitely recommend picking this one up and giving it a read. It will make you happy.

Reading Right Now! (320)

What I'm Reading Right Now! is...

My Darling Duke (Sinful Wallflowers #1) by Stacy Reid -- This has a really fun premise of a wallflower deciding upon a fake engagement in order to save her family. Kitty Danvers has decided to pretend she's engaged to the reclusive Duke of Thornton. He hasn't been seen in years. The ruse is working pretty well, until she finds herself renting a house that is being billed to the Duke's accounts. The Duke gets curious about this woman and decides to see for himself.
I feel like this is a little bit of a slower read for me. I'm enjoying it, but I'm just not finding myself reading it the quickest.

Book I Recently Finished

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller -- It did not take me long to read the rest of this one at all. I enjoyed it. Another good one from Tricia Levenseller. I liked the Viking like feel this had. I liked how our main girl wasn't a beauty, she was average, but she was a great fighter. I also liked the complicated family thing that was going on. There was also a betrayal at the beginning of the book that pained me.
Rasmira meets some boys in the wild that became very important to her, and I liked their little group.
I am now caught up with everything Tricia Levenseller has published so far, or at least to my knowledge. I really like her books and can't wait for the next one.

And that's what I'm Reading Right Now! What are you reading?

Reading Right Now! (319)

I have had a pretty good reading week so far. That makes me happy.
What I'm Reading Right Now! is...

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller -- I had to return this book to the library a couple of weeks ago, I put it on hold again, and I just got it back. Yay! I'm 113 pages into the book, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Tricia Levenseller has become an author that I really do enjoy. This is the last book of hers (that I know of as published) that I haven't finished yet. I'm excited to read more of this. I feel like it didn't take me that long to read the first 100 pages, so maybe I'll fly through the rest of it.

I kinda want to start another book too, but I don't know which one I really want to start, or what to do. I am indecisive always.

My Darling Duke (Sinful Wallflowers #1) by Stacy Reid -- Maybe I want to start this one. I'm kind of craving a romance and the premise for this one sounds good.

Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano - This one sounds kind of good too. A mystery. I did get the sequel as a Netgalley Review Copy. I should read this.

Books that I Recently Finished

Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake #2)  by Victoria Schwab - I read this in two days, which is an accomplishment for me lately. I enjoyed this. It's a fun series that is pretty spooky.
It has a lot of Harry Potter references, so depending on how you feel about HP, it might sway what you think of this one.

Wonton Terror (Noodle Shop Mystery #4) by Vivien Chien - I've really been enjoying this cozy mystery series about Lana Lee. She works at her parents' Chinese Restaurant and she's constantly being pulled into murder investigations. My favorite part of this series is the characters.
I actually won the seventh book in a Goodreads Giveaway, so I couldn't read it until I had caught up with the series. I'm actually proud of myself for how I'm trucking along with this series. I'm usually very bad about reading the first book and then waiting (sometimes years) before reading the next book in the series. So, just finishing the fourth book is an accomplishment.

And that is what I'm Reading Right Now! What I want to read next, plus what I currently finished. I feel good about it. What are you reading?

I am really excited to be a part of the Blog Tour for Guild Boss by Jayne Castle! I received a free electronic copy for honest review from the publisher. Thanks so much to Berkley Books and Jayne Castle for letting me be a part of this fun tour.

Title: Guild Boss (Ghost Hunters #14)
Author: Jayne Castle
Published by: Berkley Books
Released: November 16, 2021
Source: Advanced Electronic Review Copy from Publisher

Synopsis: Welcome to Illusion Town on the colony world of Harmony—like Las Vegas on Earth, but way more weird.
Living in this new, alien world doesn’t stop the settlers from trying to re-create what they’ve left behind. Case in point—weddings are still the highlight of any social calendar. But it’s the after-party that turns disastrous for Lucy Bell. Kidnapped and drugged as she leaves the party, she manages to escape—only to find herself lost in the mysterious, alien underground maze of glowing green tunnels beneath Illusion Town. She’s been surviving on determination and cold pizza, scavenged for her by a special dust bunny, when help finally shows up.
Gabriel Jones is the Guild Hunter sent to rescue her, but escaping the underground ruins isn’t the end of her troubles—it’s only the beginning. With no rational reason for her abduction, and her sole witness gone on another assignment for the Guild, whispers start circulating that Lucy made it all up. Soon her life unravels until she has nothing left but her pride. The last thing she expects is for Gabriel Jones to come back to town for her.
The Lucy that Gabriel finds is not the same woman he rescued, the one who looked at him as if he were her hero. This Lucy is sharp, angry, and more than a little cynical—instead of awe, she treats him with extreme caution. But a killer is still hunting her, and there aren’t a lot of options when it comes to heroes. Despite her wariness, Gabriel is also the one person who believes Lucy—after all, he was there. He’s determined to help clear her reputation, no matter what it takes. And as the new Guild Boss, his word is law, even in the lawlessness of Illusion Town. (Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: What a crazy ride. I really enjoyed the premise and setting of this. It was wild and fun. I just really liked the vibe of Illusion Town. This was a book that really took my mind off everything else in the world, and I was just able to sit and enjoy it. It offered me a very entertaining story, with action and romance. It was a very good time.
I liked the couple in this book. They had a lot to deal with, but they were a good match.
I liked all the action this book brought. It did have me turning pages just so I could see what was going to happen next.
This was a very enjoyable read. I hadn't read any of the Harmony novels before, or any other books in this series, but I'm going to have to fix that. I'd recommend giving this one a read.

BLOG TOUR: The Wedding Ringer by Kerry Rea

I am really excited to be a part of the Blog Tour for The Wedding Ringer by Kerry Rea! I received a free electronic copy for honest review from the publisher. Thanks so much to Kerry Rea and Berkley Books for letting me be a part of this fun tour.

Title: The Wedding Ringer
Author: Kerry Rea
Published by: Berkley Books
Released: November 9, 2021
Source: Electronic Review Copy from Publisher

Synopsis: A woman who wants nothing to do with love or friendship finds both in the unlikeliest ways in this hilarious and heartwarming debut by Kerry Rea.
Once upon a time, Willa Callister was a successful blogger with a good credit score, actual hobbies, and legs that she shaved more than once a month. But after finding her fiancé in bed with her best friend, she now spends her days performing at children's birthday parties in a ball gown that makes her look like a walking bottle of Pepto Bismol. Willa dreams of starting fresh, where no one knows who she used to be, but first she needs to save up enough money to make it happen.
Maisie Mitchell needs something too: another bridesmaid for her wedding. After a chance encounter at a coffee shop, Maisie offers to pay Willa to be in her bridal party. Willa wants nothing to do with weddings--or Maisie--but the money will give her the freedom to start the new life she so badly desires.
Willa's bridesmaid duties thrust her into Maisie's high-energy world and into the path of hotshot doctor Liam Rafferty. But as Willa and Maisie form a real friendship, and Liam's annoyingly irresistible smile makes her reconsider her mantra that all men are trash, Willa's exit strategy becomes way more complicated. And when a secret from Maisie's past threatens to derail the wedding, Willa must consider whether friendship--and romance--are worth sticking around for. (Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: This was very cute, and I really enjoyed it. My eye was first drawn to the cover. I love a lilac hued cover. Then I was captured by the story. It had a lot of things that I really enjoyed.
Willa has been betrayed by love, her friends, and has given up. Her focus now is saving up enough money to start somewhere fresh. I really enjoyed reading about the jobs Willa takes on to fund her new future. I also really enjoyed Willa's growth and journey that she undergoes.
The whole idea of being paid to be a bridesmaid was just something to wrap my head around. I don't think I would have done it.
Liam was a great guy to help Willa heal. I liked how the story starts off with such betrayal, and by the end, Willa is able to trust in love and friendship again. It's all just a really nice full circle.
This is also Kerry Rea's debut book, and I am impressed. I will definitely be looking out for more books by Rea in the future. I'd definitely keep your eye out for this book.

Kerry Rea is a 2017 and 2019 #Pitchwars mentee. Her work has appeared in Seventeen Magazine. She lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband and four dogs. The Wedding Ringer is her debut novel.

Thanks so much for checking out my Blog Tour Stop for The Wedding Ringer by Kerry Rea. Thanks so much to Berkley Books and Kerry Rea for letting me read an early copy, and including me on the Blog Tour. This is a book that I'd definitely add to your list, especially if you're looking for something cute to read.

I am really excited to be a part of the Blog Tour for The Singles Table (Marriage Game #3) by Sara Desai. I received a free copy for honest review from the publisher. Thanks so much to Berkley and Sara Desai for letting me be a part of this fun tour!

Title: The Singles Table (Marriage Game #3)
Author: Sara Desai
Published by: Berkley
Released: November 16, 2021
Source: Electronic Review Copy from Publisher

Synopsis: Opposites attract in this romantic comedy about a free-spirited lawyer who is determined to find the perfect match for the grumpy bachelor at her friend’s wedding
After a devastating break-up, celebrity-obsessed lawyer Zara Patel is determined never to open her heart again. She puts her energy into building her career and helping her friends find romance through the wedding season. She's never faced a guest at the singles table she couldn’t match, until she crosses paths with the sinfully sexy Jay Donovan.
Former military security specialist Jay has no time for love. His life is about working hard, staying focused, and winning at all costs. When charismatic Zara crashes into his life, he's thrown into close contact with exactly the kind of chaos he wants to avoid. Worse, they're stuck together for the entire wedding season.
So they make a deal. She'll find his special someone if he introduces her to his celebrity clients. But when their arrangement brings them together in ways they never expected, they realize that the perfect match might just be their own. (Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: I love books with this kind of trope. The two people who make a deal and then end up falling for each other. It gets me every time. This one did a great job with that premise. We have a fun sunshine and a grump, and they are perfect together.
I just really liked the back and forth Zara and Jay had. It was a good time to read and experience. You could just feel the tension as you were reading, and how perfect they were for each other.
I had a good time reading this book. It's a great romantic, cute book in a fun series. This one might even be my favorite of the three. I'd definitely recommend giving it a read.

Reading Right Now! (318)

I've been in a weird mood this week where I just don't really want to do anything. I don't really know why. Anyway, what I'm Reading Right Now! is...

Our Last Echoes by Kate Alice Marshall -- I am in the home stretch with this one. I think I should have finished it already, but I didn't really commit to reading the past couple of days like I thought I was.
I'm enjoying this one. It's very weird, which I wasn't expecting, and I appreciate. I guess since this is YA, I wasn't expecting it to go to this level. Finding YA books that really commit to the weird vibe without playing into those YA tropes are rare, and a welcome surprise. So this one does have some Stranger Things vibes, but I can't say in what way because that would give some of the surprise of the story away.
I'm hoping that I finish it tomorrow, and I kick whatever weird mood I'm in. This always seems to happen when I take a couple of days off from work. I think I'm going to read, read, read, and then I just get distracted by other things.

So that is what I'm Reading Right Now! What are you reading?

BLOG TOUR: The Fastest Way to Fall by Denise Williams

I am really excited to be a part of the Blog Tour for The Fastest Way to Fall by Denise Williams. I received a free electronic copy for honest review from the publisher. Thanks so much to Berkley Romance and Denise Williams for letting me be a part of the tour!

Title: The Fastest Way to Fall
Author: Denise Williams
Published by: Berkley Romance
Released: November 2, 2021
Source: Electronic Review Copy provided by Publisher

Synopsis: Britta didn’t plan on falling for her personal trainer, and Wes didn’t plan on Britta. Plans change and it’s unclear if love, career, or both will meet them at the finish line.
Britta Colby works for a lifestyle website, and when tasked to write about her experience with a hot new body-positive fitness app that includes personal coaching, she knows it’s a major opportunity to prove she should write for the site full-time.
As CEO of the FitMe app, Wes Lawson finally has the financial security he grew up without, but despite his success, his floundering love life and complicated family situation leaves him feeling isolated and unfulfilled. He decides to get back to what he loves—coaching. Britta’s his first new client and they click immediately.
As weeks pass, she’s surprised at how much she enjoys experimenting with her exercise routine. He’s surprised at how much he looks forward to talking to her every day. They convince themselves their attraction is harmless, but when they start working out in person, Wes and Britta find it increasingly challenging to deny their chemistry and maintain a professional distance.
Wes isn’t supposed to be training clients, much less meeting with them, and Britta’s credibility will be sunk if the lifestyle site finds out she’s practically dating the fitness coach she’s reviewing. Walking away from each other is the smartest thing to do, but running side by side feels like the start of something big. (Synopsis from Goodreads)

My Thoughts: This was very cute and I enjoyed my time reading it. It had fitness, fun, body positivity, and a cute romance. It was just such a great book to pick up after a long day and flip through the pages. I was hooked by the story.
I really liked our main character Britta and how relatable she is. She's not a skinny minnie, and she really showcases the journey of loving yourself for who you are.
Wes is a cutie. He's the perfect match for Britta.
As someone who isn't the happiest with how her body is, being bigger then I want to be, I really appreciated getting a character who is going through the same kind of things. I also don't really think exercise is fun, so it is what it is. Maybe, if someone like Wes came along, I would want to exercise.
This book was just a lot of fun, and it was very sweet. I liked it a lot.

Denise Williams wrote her first book in the second grade. I Hate You and its sequel, I Still Hate You, featured a tough, funny heroine, a quirky hero, witty banter, and a dragon. Minus the dragons, these are still the books she likes to write. After penning those early works, she finished second grade and eventually earned a Ph.D. in education, going on to work in higher education. After growing up a military brat around the world and across the country, Denise now lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband, son, and two ornery shih tzus who think they own the house.

Reading Right Now! (317)

Hi Everybody, it's me. Sooo I took a little break from my blog this week just out of sheer laziness. I didn't feel like doing anything, so I didn't. I decided to come back on good ol' Friday, and share what I'm Reading Right Now!

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller -- I started this one today, and it is the only Tricia Levenseller book (that I am aware of) that I haven't read yet. I'm a fan of Tricia Levenseller, she writes good stuff. I'm excited to get more into this one.

Our Last Echoes by Kate Alice Marshall -- It is also my plan to start this one. I've heard great things about it. I know that it's a mystery with some mixed text elements. I'm excited for it.

The Last Thing I Finished

The Girl from the Well (#1)  by Rin Chupeco -- This was a very enjoyable ghostly tale. It would make a great movie, I think. I really liked how we viewed things from the vengeful spirit's viewpoint (Okiku). I guess I liked how she felt other and not human. It was unique.

And that's what I'm Reading Right Now! and what I've just finished. What are you reading?
